Warwick deck permit: checklist and contacts
Summary of the City of Warwick's published checklist, not legal advice. Confirm details with the Building Department.
How to apply
Warwick takes building permit applications through the statewide online permitting system (permits.ri.us), per the city's residential building permit checklist. The checklist specifically asks whether your plans' footprint matches the site plan, including decks and porches.
What the checklist asks for
- Site plan drawn to scale (1"=10' or 1"=20' recommended) with property lines, setbacks from all lines, the driveway, and any wetlands, watercourses or coastal features. A Class I survey by a registered land surveyor may be required.
- CRMC jurisdictional determination where freshwater wetlands may be present.
- Construction drawings: footing and foundation plan, elevations and cross sections, drawn to scale (single-line drawings are not accepted).
- Flood zones: AE and VE zones need elevation information, and VE designs require an architect or engineer.
